Oh Tesco. On one hand, you’re participating in an exceptionally vicious attack on claimants and by extension the working class as a whole (in the discussion about workfare, I don’t think there’s been anywhere near enough attention paid to the fact that workfare will create a class of people with virtually no ability to take action in the workplace, who can then be pressurised into breaking any strike or other action taken by more traditional waged workers), but on the other hand, 40p for a bottle of mouthwash and £1.80 for four tins of cider is a fucking result by anyone’s standards, especially if you’re on the dole. Good thing you can’t boycott a social relationship, eh?
